Our Homeless Recovery Partners

At The Bridge, we are more than just a homeless recovery shelter—we are a recovery center focused on helping our Guests rebuild their lives. Having internal partners like Parkland for medical care and Metrocare for mental health and substance misuse services is crucial to achieving this mission. These partnerships enable us to meet the critical healthcare needs of our Guests quickly and efficiently. Many of our Guests face significant barriers to accessing care, such as transportation challenges and financial constraints. By offering these services onsite, we ensure that immediate medical and mental health support is available, creating a foundation for recovery and long-term stability.

Parkland Hospital provides a wide range of medical services to our guests, from primary care and emergency services to specialized treatments. With Parkland’s presence, our Guests receive critical healthcare, including preventive services, chronic disease management, and treatment for acute conditions. This partnership ensures that no one is left behind in their healthcare journey, regardless of their housing status.

Metrocare helps our guests by offering essential mental health support, including therapy, psychiatric evaluations, and case management. This partnership is especially important for individuals facing mental health challenges, helping them stabilize and access the resources necessary for long-term recovery. Metrocare’s expertise allows us to address mental health needs directly on-site, reducing barriers to care.

Through our partnership with Trusted World, we are able to provide clothing essentials to our Guests, ensuring their basic needs are met with dignity and care. Trusted World supplies a wide range of clothing options for everybody, allowing Guests to have clean, suitable clothing as they work through their recovery journey. This vital service helps our Guests regain confidence and is an important step toward their overall well-being.

As The Bridge’s trusted IT vendor, BNC plays a crucial role in maintaining and supporting the technology infrastructure that powers our day-to-day operations. Their services ensure that our staff can work efficiently, using reliable technology to coordinate services, track guest progress, and manage resources. This partnership allows us to focus on our mission of helping individuals transition out of homelessness while BNC ensures our systems run smoothly.

The Stewpot, a community ministry of First Presbyterian Church of Dallas, provides around 700 nutritious meals daily for Guests. The Stewpot has expanded its impact to include a full range of social services and casework for individuals experiencing homelessness. This partnership helps ensure that Guests at The Bridge have access to balanced meals and comprehensive support as they work toward stability and recovery.

The onsite availability of these services is essential for addressing the comprehensive needs of our Guests. For those dealing with mental health issues or substance misuse, the ability to receive professional care without delay can be transformative. Metrocare’s presence allows for timely interventions, helping to stabilize Guests and guiding them toward recovery. Likewise, Parkland’s medical services address physical health challenges with prompt, compassionate care, which is critical in fostering self-sufficiency and overall well-being. This holistic approach makes The Bridge a true recovery center, where people can find the support, they need to rebuild their lives.
