Overcoming homelessness, mental health challenges, and addiction, Collin’s journey with The Bridge started in June 2022.
With the assistance of his care manager, Collin connected with vital resources, addressing mental health at Metrocare and getting the proper medications. He also found support through MetroCare’s Intensive Outpatient Program for Alcohol and Drug Abuse and secured income, food stamps, and legal documents for housing approval through the Stewpot.
Today, Collin is very grateful for how far he has come in over a year. With the assistance of his care manager, he was placed on the housing list and qualified for permanent supportive housing.
Collin’s progress is remarkable, from sleeping on the streets to finding a place at The Bridge Transitional Shelter.
After a year, he’s moved into permanent supportive housing, writes for StreetZine, and sings with the Street Choir. He was part of the choir’s recent performance at the Bridge’s 15-year celebration.
Collin inspires others in recovery groups to stay on the path of substance and homeless recovery. 🏡🎤
